February 2010 Back to journal index As February draws to a close we are still in Hawaii.  Mom is in the "Rehab" after being released from the hospital and is feeling much better.  Rehab is downstairs from the hospital.  She can't come to the condo yet, maybe next week. The hospital is up the hill from the Kona Tiki in the town of Kealakekua. Arlita and Ralph opened their home for us while we searched for a suitable condo. We eventually found a two bedroom condo downtown. Ralph and Janine prepare supper. Our condo. John carved a little bird to keep mom company in the hospital. Dad & I drove to Waimea while Janine stayed with mom (like she did every day). The little bird was waiting - just like us. Blue eyes! Sunday February 7 Janine and I received a phone call from Patty (in Hawaii).  Marylou Howe had been admitted to Kona Community Hospital for a major operation. Janine and I both joined Leo in Hawaii to wait for Mom to recover and travel home.  We arrived to a group of fast friends at the Kona Tiki.  A slide show of more  pictures is available HERE.
