January 2009

The way the story was told to me; Thoth called mom and said he had a turkey he raised and he would like to share it.  One thing lead to another and before we knew it we had a family gathering in Arbuckle.  So, on Sunday, January 18th, we all got together for a great meal and the pogo stick championships.  Jayden won with over two hundred pogos.  The turkey was especially good knowing it was raised without chemicals or hormones.  Thoth and Sarah brought their new baby; he was in great demand.

Just another beautiful day with the horses.  Notice the new meadowbrook cart in the truck, more on that later.

Ken Hall's 80th birthday
One of my favorite early memories is that of adventuring with my father and my unkle Ken.  We went hunting, fishing hiking, camping, prospecting, rock hounding, bottle searching and even shopping (probably an army surplus store).

A few years ago Ken reinvented himself in the mountains of Nevada City.  Sunday, friends and family gathered to celebrate with Ken.  We met at the Mine Shaft, a bar in Nevada City and enjoyed a meal together next door at Freds resturant.  The gathering was not only a celebration of 80 years of life but a celebration of friendship and fellowship.

Another winter ride to try out Tango's new bridle
On new years day we had a nice long trail ride along the Mokelumne river, acorss Now Hope road and the north along the opposite bank of the river.  The morning was crisp and overcast (no pictures).

Then, on January 3, 2009, Linda finished a new bridle for Tango and we tried it out in bright sun.  She used black dye on leather from Tandy and placed special conchos to add some bling.  The reins were braded from another piece of leather from Tandy.  We rode in the dressage arena for a few pictures, then along the levy again.
