We moved our horse stuff out of our old horse trailer into a plastic shed we purchased from Craigs List (much more organized) and drive to Maraposa (by Yosemite) to pick up a new, enclosed, horse trailer. The new trailer is much nicer and very roomy.
On Tuesday the 21st Dad and I took a drive to College City, then East into the farm land. I stopped at Rankin corner to take pictures of the junk yard (very interesting). We had lunch at the River Park in Colusa.
One of our favorite evening pastimes is to drive to Walnut Grove, a small town along side the Sacramento river, where we stop for an ice cream or freeze. One night we drove along the road at the Nature Preserve and watched the moon come up.
September 18-21 we helped our friend Michelle with her horse show at the Groupe facility just South of Thornton. Thursday we helped with the vet. check and took a tour of the grounds. Then, on Saturday I took pictures of the event, a Combined Driving Event. There are more pictures HERE.
Monday September 6 was Labor day and naturally we went for a horseback ride, then later that evening we paid the horses a visit for a walk after dark.
On Saturday September 4 we drove to Pilot Hill to visit with our friends Charmaine and Laurie. Charmaine was staying at her friend Carolyn's house taking care of the horses. The drive up highway 50 was annoying with all the construction and bad road but once we turned off onto N. Shingle road it was fun and twisty. The entire set of photos from the visit are HERE; below are some of my favorites.
